FLUX
A visual instrument you play with sound
FLUX turns audio into reactive visuals in real time. Play a track or use a live mic, and it responds to what it hears, frame by frame. Built for live performance, projection and light installations.
Open FLUXNo render queue. No AI. No waiting.
Most visual tools make you wait. You generate, you render, you export, you hope. FLUX does none of that. It reacts to sound the instant it hears it, live. Nothing is pre-baked and nothing is AI-generated, so what you play is what shows, immediately. It runs in a browser tab with nothing to install, or as a free Mac app built for gigs.
Take it to the gig.
The Mac app is FLUX built for the booth. Open it once online and everything you need is saved on your laptop, so it keeps playing in a basement with no signal. Send the visuals to the projector with one shortcut, and if the cable gets knocked out mid-set, FLUX drops to your laptop screen and jumps back when it's reconnected. It updates itself quietly, only when you quit, never mid-set. Free, for Apple Silicon Macs.
Made to be played, not watched.
FLUX is an instrument, not a screensaver. It is judged the way an instrument is: live, in a dark room, on a real track, by feel. Every reaction is tuned to move with the music and settle back, never freezing, never piling up into noise. From sharp lasers to fluid ink, every visual is built to read clearly on a projector in the dark.
Yours to shape.
Start with the built-in behaviours, then make them yours. Every reactive element can be routed to the part of the sound you want driving it, low, mid or high, punch or sustain. Save the looks you like. New behaviours are added over time, so the instrument keeps growing.
Free to use. Pay once to unlock the cloud.
The full instrument is free. Play it, tune it, perform with it, and save up to five looks on your device with no account needed. One payment of £39 unlocks FLUX Pro: unlimited looks in a cloud library that syncs across your devices and works offline in the Mac app, plus Sets, Autopilot and projection mapping. One payment, not a subscription. No recurring fee, ever.
